I Define Me

I define me as commitment

Because when I am on a team I try my best. 

I define me as leadership 

Because when I have to do something to do I just do it.

Perhaps it will show other girls they should do it too.

I define me as friendship

Because when I have a friend I am their friend for life. I will give you advice and you push me to do right! 

I define me as diversity

Because even though I’m African American, it does not mean don’t accept you because you are Hispanic, Asian or White!

I define me as independent 

Because I am free as mind will take me, knowing literacy is key because I can read and write the chapters to create my history.

I define me as determination

Because when I want something I try my best to get it.

I define me as expectations

Because when you expect nothing of me, I always do my best, because I can give no less.

I define me as self-expression 

Because if I’m happy, you will see it on my face.

I define me as acceptance 

Because I don’t care if you’re black or white, you’re still a person.

I define me as perseverance

Because I believe in God and I know if I know him I can persevere through.

I define me as character

Because sometimes I am happy sometimes I am sad but I define my feelings and my personality style.

I define me as achievement

Because I can and will achieve all my goals and plans. 

I define me as creativity 

Because I can speak, write, draw, sing and dance.

I define me as responsibility

Because when someone tells me to do something, I do it.

I define me as dedication 

Because I am dedicated to loving me, my family and friends.

I define me as education

Because I try to get the best grades I can.

I define me as faith, hope, love, and self-appreciation.

                        Because it truly defines why I am who I am.
