Seven ways to Define your Self-Care

  1. Journal. Release your feelings, set positive goals and define your present and future. Be authentic to you! Write daily love letters, poetry or short stories defining your thoughts, emotions and feelings.
  2. Create a Music Playlist. Choose songs that define happiness, get your endorphins going to reduce stress and uplift your spirit. Balance it out with guided meditation or relaxing songs that speak to your spirit.
  3. Define your Affirmations. Create an “I define me!” affirmation board full of amazing quotes that speak to your inner worth, find apps that send daily affirmations to your phone or write them in your journal!
  4. Take the “I define me” Pledge. As you start your day in the morning or end it in the evening, look in the mirror daily and say it out loud!
  5. Define your Play! Do you love to dance, skate, go bowling, window shop or just take long walks with your dog? You must define your play! All things that make you feel happiest, define them!
  6. Define your Color. Coloring relieves stress and you get to create something beautiful and painting a blank canvas allows you to bring something new to life. Grab your favorite coloring book, crayons, paint, markers, pencils, etc. and define your colors.
  7. Define your Support Circle. Choose a Sister, Aunt, Friend, mentor, pastor or counselor who comforts you, who you can confide in and trust, someone you can reach out to when it gets tough or who will inspire or uplift you when you are ready to define your dreams!
