Congratulations on becoming an IDM School Chapter!

Educational Equity for all girls is so important and the I Define ME Movement feels it's important for all our girls to define themselves and have culturally relevant materials!

Either you have your IDM Start up kit or it's enroute to start your successful circles. Review the materials and make it your own. Each week will make reference to optional pages that you can utilize in the book for the girls. ( Remember it's optional) What is not optional is making sure that the girls are in a safe space, they learn the value of self awareness, learning the I Define ME Pledge, Song knowing I Define Me!

Wear your IDM Tee! Remember be yourself, girls know when you aren't authentic, Have fun.

Plan ahead so you feel confident in facilitating. Also, remember to feel the room.

If you come into the space and the girls seem or appear to be overwhelmed. GO straight to meditation, let it go/let it flow and the IDM Pledge/Song.

Practice the Love Principle - Listen, Observe, Validate and Empower

Space: Find an open space, choose your music/speaker, chairs in an open circle, whiteboard or projector for optional videos.

Supplies: Bands, Journals, books, ink pens or gel pens to distribute and collect. (lanyards, IDM Tee Shirts, Keeper cards)

You decide what you will distribute during your first circle.

(Journal/Bands/Bag) Remember, the girls keep their journals

*Distribute journals or wait until following week.

*Attendance/Always know how many girls you have.

Rules:

What goes on in a circle/stays in the circle

NO Profanity

We don't do names, meaning we only talk about ourselves

Don't miss more than 3 circles/

Encourage them to bring your IDM Swag to all circles/ Journal/ Book bag

Remember to leave circle notes in the comment section. (i.e. how many girls attended, how did the circle go, reminders for yourself or IDM National)
